Time Management is the word of the day! We all have insane schedules, meetings to attend, family obligations, and find time to sleep! Did I forget to mention grocery shopping? Networking Tip: it is encouraged to meet people for a 1:1 appointment, and build relationships face to face. It may be hard to set appointments with individuals when both schedules are extremely busy. Steve taught me an excellent lesson about implementation, 2 days prior to an event I organized in Cincinnati. Steve helped by inviting Jim Breech to my event as a celebrity guest to raise money for our charity with Rupert’s Kids and Rita Kuntz. Steve met me on a Thursday, before the event, and said, “Sure, Elizabeth, I will call you later this afternoon with confirmation.” I was amazed because I am the queen of implementation, and I met Jim Breech in person on June 1. Steve has hired me to be his Social Media Diva and we are going to be working special projects this upcoming year raising money for a variety of charities around Cincinnati!

Steve is a True Italian Networker. If you need something, he knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy…………….. Most importantly, Steve has an amazing heart for people! This past Sunday, he was the host of a Poker Run, and Concert in Memory of Sydney Monet…. The proceeds were benefiting Artworks in Camp Livingston.

I love children and today was a very special Mother’s Day for me. When I was teaching in Owenton, KY. I made a promise to use my skills as a teacher and empower millions of children around the world. My passion became reality when I started ElizabethCobb.com, and drove traffic to my blog via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and 34 other social media sites.

Our campaign to raise money for Habitat for Humanity with Haitian Children is the start of my personal campaign.

As I continue to ask “what can I do to make a difference”, one answer is to raise money to build Haitian Homes through Habitat for Humanity. Rita Kuntz and I have set up a page on Habitat for Humanity’s website for 1,000,000 people to donate $1 or more to build the core houses.

We are reaching out to all of our contacts through all of the various social media and asking for everyone to pass on the word in their social networks. Though 1,000,000 people sounds like a lot of people, if we ALL do SOMETHING, we can improve the lives of so many families in Haiti.

It’s Late

It’s late and the hour is nigh
to tuck you in and say goodbye

One more precious memory more valuable than pearls
one more precious day with my sweet little girls

The music you make is as sweet as can be
your talents and your gifts are so heavenly

The peace of each moment can be stolen so fast
If your time was cut short leaving only your past

Each time that I hug you tight and kiss you good night
There is peace in knowing that you’re safe and alright

For my little girls will grow up and move on
But my love and concern will never be gone

Maybe someday when a fine new mother you’ll be
you’ll understand how I feel, and then you will see

And so I must treasure each day that I can
for eventually you’ll grow up and find a young man

While I’m sure you will want him to be rich, fine and strong
I will have my own list too, and it will be much more long!

For he must make it so I sleep easy
knowing my girl is safe as can be

Over the past 3 years I have been to Haiti four times. The first time I went to Haiti, I was so SHOCKED at the poverty! Each time that I have gone back, my heart continues to cry out “what can I do to help the people of Haiti?”

One of the greatest needs in Haiti is the need for safe and secure housing. Even before the earthquake of February 2010, the need for housing was critical for many Haitians. Not only has the earthquake destroyed many homes in the Port Au Prince area, but also three hurricanes slammed Haiti in 2008 and resulted in major damage throughout the country.

Many of the homes in Haiti are made up of sticks, grass, mud, cardboard and corrugated tin. The majority of homes have only one room that accommodates a large family. The homes do not have running water, electricity or indoor bathrooms. The people of Haiti have little protection from rain, wind and the cool evening temperatures. Human beings should not have to live in these conditions!

Habitat for Humanity has been working in Haiti for 26 years, and since the earthquake has stepped up their efforts to provide temporary shelter and permanent homes in Haiti. They have designed core houses that are earthquake resistant. According to their website “Core houses are small, but well-constructed and durable, permanent structures that provide adequate living space and sanitation facilities for the average Haitian family of five.”

Dear:  President Obama,

My name is Elizabeth Cobb. This evening in Cincinnati, Ohio, I was at a networking event with entrepreneurs, and a person shared with me  something very important in my life. They stated you are seeking a candidate to become White House Chief for Social Media. I am writing you this evening because Social Media has changed my life.

July 2008, I was let go from my teaching position in Owenton, KY. At the time, I thought that day was the hardest day in my life. As I look back, that day was the greatest day of my life because I focused on my passion to become an entrepreneur.  I lost my father in September 2008, and made a promise to him. He passed away too young, and I realized I was 28 and he was 58. I implemented immediately, I only had 30 years to carry on his light, and help as many people as possible on this Earth.

January 2009, I used http://www.twitter.com/yslanrulz as my platform to networking internationally. The difference on how I used Twitter is to network and build strategic business relationships throughout the world. I am married, responsible for a mortgage, and raise three dogs. January, 2009, I went back to work third shift at DHL in Hebron, KY and launched http://www.elizabethcobb.com. Twitter was my platform to network and build relationships. Remember, in my heart, I had a major deadline.

July 2009. I received a bonus ticket to attend Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind Bootcamp in Los Angeles, CA. In addition, I wanted to meet a Social Media Guru, Angela Giles in San Diego, CA. I flew to Los Angeles @ 6 am Friday morning, and returned back to Cincinnati on the Red Eye  to Cincinnati, OH. I knew in my heart this would be a life changing event. During this weekend I met Angela Giles LIVE and Marlene Green, Publisher of Millionaire Blueprints, Media, LLC from NYC.

Angela and I Masterminded TeachingEmpowerment.com, and I planted the seed to build a relationship with Marlene Green. I returned to Cincinnati, OH and continued my journey.

September 2009, I met an entrepreneur on Twitter from West Palm Beach, FL. He has changed my life and was the first person to compliment me in regards to my writing. His name is Adrian Rivodeaux and CEO of Rivodeaux Marketing. Our business relationship proved my hypothesis in regards to the power of Social Media. I knew in my heart I could build relationship both online and offline during this Global Economic Recession. Jobs are available, the most important key to be successful, and start a business from scratch, was the strategy to take my expertise and brand myself online via Social Media.

October 2009, I drove to Philadelphia, PA because of the opportunity to meet TOP MARKETING GURUS, and build my relationship with Marlene Green of Millionaire Blueprints, Media. Relationships were made in Philadelphia that have changed my life both personally and business.

November 2009, I drove to Atlanta, GA to network with TOP MARKETING GURUS @ Glazier Kennedy Insider’s Circle, Info Summit. I was offered the Position as Project Manager with Millionaire Blueprints Magazine, and to star preparing for the re-launch of the Magazine in 2010.

In addition, I was working directly with Mr. Rivodeaux, and being personally mentored from an International Marketing Executive.

December  2009, I joined Tri-State Business Network in Cincinnati, OH. I met amazing entrepreneurs, and created relationships with individuals in Cincinnati, OH/Northern Kentucky. My solution and results prove why Social Media is the GOLD Medal for Entrepreneurs in the Olympic Games of Entrepreneurship.

Today I was working at the local coffee shop and meeting friends when I overheard the frustration with person typing on their laptop next to me. I heard them say quietly. Why am I not getting people to read my blog? I couldn’t resist and kindly turn around. I said, you are a blogger as well? Our conversation began and didn’t end until three hours later. My friends gave up on me.

I emphasized to my new blogger friend it’s important to build a system on how to drive traffic to your blog. I alway make sure I follow the same steps after writing my piece.

1. Sign up for a free account with pinoat.com and ping your blog.

2. It’s important to work with other bloggers and comment on there blogs. I recommend the special number of 7.

3. RSS Directories are essential and I post to 7-9 of them.

4. Join Blog forums that fit into your niche that you are writing about.

Last but most important!! Social Bookmark!! Twitter, Myspace, Facebook…………..

Structure and Consistency are the key words to drive traffic to your blog.
